A Custom order, the Craft Fair, and a New Etsy Shop...

I haven't blogged in a few days (almost a week!) but that's because I've been super busy crocheting. Over the past week, I've finished up three custom orders and delivered/sent out all three. I've posted pics of two of the orders, but here's the third.

A revamped green dinosaur. I really like this guy, I think if I make any more green dinos they'll look more like him than the first green dino I made.

I've already posted a picture of two of the eggs for this order, but here are the other two.

This little hedgehog is the cutest thing I've made in awhile (I think!). He's super tiny, only about three inches tall. However, he was a ton of work! His "hair" (or "spines") took forever to complete. I think he turned out well though.

And who can resist another octopus?

Or another penguin? I feel like with each time I create the same animal, it looks better. I guess practice makes perfect!

Now that I've gotten all of my custom orders out of the way, I really need to start focusing on making items for the Craft Fair. It's only three weeks away! So I wrote up a plan for what to make and when to make it by, and I'm trying to stick to it. It's kind of hard for me, though, because there're so many other things I'd rather be doing!

Two eggs and three Christmas pickles:

Three little baby girl hats. I'm not sure what size these will fit, but I'm thinking newborn. I'll probably take them home over Thanksgiving break and try them on Nico or Daniel to try to guesstimate a size. I came up with these three similar but different patterns on my own, so let me know what you think about them, okay?

These guys I actually made a while back, but never posted pictures of. They're pretty large, around 8 or 9 inches each. I planned to list them on Etsy at some point, but now I think I'll just hold them back for the Craft Fair. I made the elephant into a little ballerina, with a tutu and a tiara.

I'm thinking about adjusting this pattern into a reindeer. It would be simple enough to form the ears into antlers, and then put a big red nose to indicate that it's Rudolph. I think it would be cute.

As far as other news goes, I opened up a new Etsy shop. My username is CraftingJoy, and you can find my new shop here. For now, my other shop is still open, and it will remain open until after the Craft Fair. However, I won't be putting anything new into either shop until after the Craft Fair. My plan is to take whatever hasn't sold in my Etsy shop to the Craft Fair, and then after the fair to take whatever didn't sell there and list it in my new shop. Once I've made the transition, I'll change my link in the sidebar to reflect my new shop.

I also joined an IM basketball team this past week. We have our first game in a couple of weeks, I believe. Our team is called Dante's Inferno. (Can you tell the team is mostly a bunch of English majors?) I'm excited about playing basketball again. It's something I've really missed since I stopped playing in high school.

If you read this, and you happen to be related to me, please post a comment! I really wonder who is reading because I know Mom has given out the link to all kinds of people. Plus I just like getting comments...

(Robert: This means you, too!)

So for now, and in conclusion, here's the Craft Fair count: 14 items made (including everything in my Etsy shop).

Forgot to mention I like the bell-shaped hat. I'll have to see the other ones on before I give an opinion on those.

P.S. My verification word today is dingsta. I like it--think I'll start using that one.
